  • Life When You're Four

Chase always cracks me up.  Notable sayings this week:

When he spent the night this week, he said,
    "Sleeping spoils the sleepover!"

and tonight when his knee hurt,
"I think I broke my skeleton"

Talking about the prehistoric shark that he made with clay,
"Orthacanthus has an eel-like body"  What kind of 4-year-old talks like that??!!

    Kids are definately educational!

Note about my last blog:  My goal has always been to teach so there is nothing new there.  I don't see myself teaching art in a traditional position at a college but I haven't ruled it out completely.  I would like more to teach at retreat-style seminars and possibly my own private program/school.

  • As I recall, Art Linkletter made a small fortune with what kids say. It's still great stuff!

  • Chase & Ross are two peas in a pod -- Ross can beat the socks off of you at the Walking With Dinosaurs board game. And what does he want to be when he grows up? Yep, a paleontologist! What 6 year old even knows that word?

Thought the worst of the summer was over, but I see we're in for another bout of triple digits about the middle of the week. Ugh! Are you coming up to the gourd show again this year?

  • Not only Chase is a beautiful little boy but he is very intelligent . Look at his eyes , Lisa . Intelligence and humor are visible in them ..

  • I love four year olds; but you already knew that!

  • Sleeping spoils any and every sleepover it ever invades!

  • i love ravens as well......my first raven encounter was with one that flew just that way spine facing the earth and belly to the sky.  i was shocked it was so unnerving to me an upside down bird.  it blew my understanding of what birds were supposed to do.  but that is the raven isn't it.  one foot in this world and the other foot where most of us fear to tread.  lately someone has been using a raven graffitti stensil around here.  it shows the raven and the word 'look'.  something a raven would say.  a good message in that graffiti painters art.  "look".     and thanks to Chase and all those little people, the things they say is about 'look' too.  -love g

  • I get a kick out of what some children say. I  love what he said about the sleepover.
