A fun little frog bowl that I made from a gourd and polymer clay.

    Escape to Mineral King!
With the valley temperatures running about 110-112, we spent Tuesday night and Wednesday at 9000 ft.  It was food for my soul to sleep out under the stars and Giant Sequoias.

  • The frog bowl is a real stunner! The weather up your way was too. Sorry we couldn't hook up. I was a kitchen slave from the moment I reached North Fork to the moment I left. When is the Fallbrook trip?

  • she kissed the gourd and pooffff   ....perfection and the frog.!!!!   Lisa, you are a skilled perfectionist, it is lovely.-g

  • Welcome back, Lisa!!! That frog bowl is just beautiful. I collect frogs, but I do not have any as beautiful as that one. What a wonderful talent you have!!! Thanks for sharing with us.

  • p.s. Glad that you could escape those high temps... And I thought it was hot here. What beautiful country it is there.

  • The frog bowl rocks! I loooooove froggies...

  • Oh it's just beautiful! You are so talented, you make my head spin! I wish I had thought to go to the mountains, but it was hot up there too! Glad it's over, & that you're OK. Your county was hit pretty hard, wasn't it?

  • Um Wow. That is all I have to say. What reallycame to mind was a few very desriptive "F" words that can be placed in various sentences like..."no way she "F-in" made that"! Or "My "F-in" mother made that"! and of course followed by the inevitable "F-in" incredible!!!

You never will cease to amaze me marm.

Your growth and skill cannot be harnessed as an artist. No one can guess where your talents wil take you next.

You make me very proud! Keep on doing what you are doing. I know there are whole worlds of artistic expression in you.

I thank God that you have come back to what you were created to do.

Love you and again, I am so very proud of you!

  • Oh and can I tell you how jealous I am that you guys went to Mineral King? It makes me sad to think that I never had the chance to show Jim it's beauty before we left CA. Hopefully, one day we can all show him that treasure. And take the grandkids too. Mineral King is something that is needed to be returned to. I am glad you guys got to go back.

  • Oh last one-Just showed Jim your Frog gourd.

"Holy Crap"!! was his reaction. He kept it so much cleaner.

Hes mellowing out in his old age.

    HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

  • I like the frog . You don' t stop your to improbe your art , Lisa .
    Love       Michel

  • Lisa, I think that gourd is wonderful! My daughter, second born, collects froggies and I bring her one from places I go for visits. My other daughter, my eldest, collects turtles... or at least she does now... I began bringing them to her since she hadn't expressed a fave like her sister and I wanted to have something for her as well. I, as is known here in Xangaland, LOVE dragonflies. I think this piece is spectacular and I wish we lived nearer so I could really see it. Pics often don't do things justice.

If I get out west I will let you know so we can share some of our time. I would just be in heaven to get to see a few of your creations. we were in Iowa last weekend of July, but it was a whirlwind trip so no time to go further west this time... and that may be still a good haul from you, but was the furthest west I'd been so far.

I hope you're doing great and get to enjoy more time up the mountain soon.

    Hugs and prayers,
    Deb
