It has been another long absence from Xanga for me.

Everything is going fine.  Even though I haven't felt quite myself for many months...since before Jim's surgery.  I know this and try to address the issues as they pop up for me.  But I have been experiencing more "normal" days than for many months past.  I have laughed more this week than I have for a while.  Absence of laughter in me is very abnormal.

I visited Sarah and her family in Boise and it was a beautiful time for me.  It was good just to be near her and Jake, Jim and Austin.

Here are a few pictures from the trip. Jakey was trying on an eagle mask at the Birds of Prey Sanctuary.  Other pics from the Salmon River where we had lunch one day.

  • What a great place!  The little one is so cute!  Glad you had some good times!

  • It has been a very intense growth year for you really requiring undoubtedly a goodly amount of reflection and quiet time.  I am glad that all is as it is for you, I was concerned that things had taken a different turn. Soul stuff can take us into caves and what appears to be apparent darkness for a time (which I know that you know). Good to read your voice again. -g

  • Glad to hear from you Lisa. Missed you lots! It is good that you are having more 'normal' days. Your comments made me think about how much pressure we are under to be 'normal', and normal in this country seems to mean 'jolly' or 'humourous' or 'sociable'. It is as if being sad, or depressed, or lonely etc isn't also normal! I made my partner laugh the other day when I declared over dinner that I realised I really didn't like new people that much and from now on would stop resisting being the old grump that I am! Thankfully, it is also quite normal in Britain to be eccentric!

  • Welcome back!  Look at that boy! He's changing a lot, not a baby anymore. We have a birds of prey place near here and I love to go there.  Nice pics.  So GLAD to hear laughter is returning to you!  Though I have only met you briefly in person, I have some idea how much laughter is a part of who you are.  Besides, it's good medicine.

  • So nice to see you posting -- I missed you! Sorry to hear life has been gray & lonesome, glad to hear it's starting to get better. So much of our moods are biochemically induced (naturally) that we often don't have control over what's going on with us. I hope it keeps getting better! Hugs!

  • That river is "Gordeous!"

  • I took a month away from Xanga too , Lisa , because my eyesight tired in front of the computer . I enjoy to know you feel  better now and the trip to Sarah ' s has certainly changed your mind . The photos relate well the change and your pleasure there . I hope Jim is well too ..
