I just bought a pendant from a polymer bead artist that is AMAZING! But...it's a Christmas present so I can't post the picture of it. The one above is from her website. But go look at her website and see these amazing things....
And if you're interested, she has really good prices on her auctions at JustBeads.com:
I have been playing with polymer clay these past two weeks also but my results are nothing close to Rasa's.
I bought some modeling clay for Chase and I. It holds its shape so much better than Playdough. Here is our lineup of trick-or-treaters:
I'm trying to adjust to our new schedule with Jim being back at work. He really enjoys it and I love seeing him excited about learning something new.
I think my moods are still suffering from being on steroids recently. I get manic for several days and then comes the crash, which is where I am right now.
Hope you're all doing well.
Blessings.

I popped over and saw her work and it's wonderful! Looks like mille fiore glass (sp?) You know, I have really resisted getting involved with polymer clay cos I can so see me obsessing and spending way too much time and money, lol! I had the pleasure and opportunity to watch an accomplished polymer clay artist work one day. The canes you start with can be really large and due to the characteristics of the polymer (molecular structure?) it does not lose its pattern, but only grows smaller. I was fascinated by that (she confessed to working to details that only disappeared when she rolled it smaller and I can SO see me doing that!) Nice gift for someone!
Look at the wonder in the boy's eyes! I love it. I always loved modeling clay, except when I got oily on something I wasn't suppose to. It does mold well, and takes forever to dry out. Someday, I wanna be a good bubby like you!
Bummer on the mood swings... is that in the female official definition?
Speaking of which, I never rule out the "hormonies" as the culprit of my unscheduled swings... the more I are into the "mentalpause" thing, the more that is a reality. Whatever the cause, just (((HUGS))) Bless ya back, and love too!
My astral twin is working in beads these days too -- go look at his site http://www.thomatkins.com/quilts&tapestries.htm -- it's to drool over too.
Glad Jim's doing well, and wish you were in better spirits! Go get a pedicure or a massage -- a little self-indulgence is good for the soul! {{{{{Hugs}}}}}, Kate
Way shitty about the mood swings maw. I hope they calm down. Don't want you to be "bubby dearest"or anything when you come for visiting
I hope things smooth out fo ryou.
I am WAY happy about dad liking his job. It is about damn time something went well for him, and you. Im not trying ot sound like you have been getting jipped and it things don't happen the way they are intended. I just wanted to verbalize how I feel. I appreciate your guy's blessings. It has been a hard, long time for you.
Chase does have stars in his eyes from his and bubbies project. It is an amazing little set-up you got there...I know that you will get the hang of the polymer and then you will be unstopable. Just like everything else. I don't have time to take a look at that artist's page but I will be sure to get around to it.
LOVE YA MOM!!
5 more days? Does that mean you are really coming!!!!????

I bet playing with Chase makes any lingering blues disappear.
I used to do polymer clay but I never got any results even half way as wonderful as Rasa's. I used to make magnets to sell and stuff to go with my glass. She seems to have transcended what I've always seen as a problem with polymer clay jewellery - that the material in itself is not intrinsically beautiful and, because of its prevalence in craft stores, often looks amateurish. Her work though, is something else again. What a talent!
Checked out the site, what beautiful work she does.
I bet Chase will have some wonderful memories in some of the things that he enjoys doing with you. It is easy to see that he is really enjoying it.
I hope that you are feeling a lot better now, so glad that things are starting to go better for you and Jim.
Long time no read Lisa. Hope you are well. Sorry to hear that it is up and down with the steroids. It is not very nice. Glad to hear that Jim is back at work though, and that you are spending quality time with Chase. The trick-or-treat clay models look fun! Take care.
Hope you are busy and enjoying it!!!
Oh wow! Rasa's work is utterly amazing. You and Chaseman aren't bad either, to be just starting this.
I hope your Thanksgiving is WONDERFUL!
Love, hugs and Prayers,
Debbie
Hope you are OK. -g
